On Tuesday, Bloomberg reported that Activision Blizzard’s first-person shooter franchise Call Of Duty will be breaking its yearly cycle, as the next release of the franchise will be delayed a year. In 2023, fans of the franchise should not be expecting a new game, as the developers have no intentions of making one. This marks the first time in nearly two decades that the franchise will go without a new release.
Many fans of the game have taken to Twitter to share their reactions to the news. Some in the community are excited, while others are not so.
I really think Call of Duty needed this off year to reset. The quality of the games lately have not been good.
I’m fine with 2 years on Modern Warfare 2 if it means a complete Treyarch game. I guess we will have to wait and see 🧐
