Halo MCC – Possible Microtransactions

Halo players are upset over the recent news that 343 Industries is ‘exploring’ the possibility of adding microtransactions into Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Fans are upset with the developer, as some feel they are milking a decades-old franchise.

The news first broke when community writer Alex Wakeford disclosed that 343 Industries will be renaming ‘Season Points’ to ‘Spartan Points’, in an effort to add microtransactions to the game:

“For players who are new to the MCC, or who may not have dedicated much time specifically to unlocking items during the seasonal updates, or are simply completionists looking to catch the last outstanding items they need, we are internally exploring a potential new feature for the future in the form of purchasable Spartan Points.” shared Alex Wakeford.

Fans are not happy

Following the news of potential microtransactions, many fans of the franchise were quick to speak out.  On YouTube, Halo YouTubers known as The Boys Unknown discussed the latest microtransaction controversy, where they said, “it just feels dirty, it just feels gross” [..] “obviously no one really wants this, but at the end of the day, I’m torn here, fellas”.

As of now, 343 Industries has yet to respond to the backlash, if they do this article will be updated.
