The first identified cases of COVID-19 have been identified according to North Korea’s state-sponsored media agency KCNA.

On Wednesday the state-sponsored agency reported on cases of the emerging Omicron variant appearing in North Korea’s capital city Pyongyang.

Historically, North Korea has previously denied cases of the coronavirus, however, some experts believe that this is due to Pyongyang’s rather limited testing for the virus.

As of now, not much else is known regarding North Korea and its oncoming COVID-19 situation.  However, this situation is still developing, and more is to come.
