Yesterday, on May 19th, 2022, Business Insider published an article outlining a sexual harassment allegation against SpaceX’s CEO Elon Musk. The article alleges that Musk exposed himself to a SpaceX flight attendant. Additionally, the article outlines that the space-travel company allegedly paid $250,000 to the flight attendant to remain silent in light of the sexual harassment claim. Since the airing of these allegations, Musk has taken to Twitter to address the matter publically, denying wrongdoing, and citing the allegations as politically motivated due to his Twitter takeover.

In a tweet published late in the night on May 19th, 2022, Musk directly responded to the sexual harassment claims. The SpaceX CEO tweeted, “The attacks against me should be viewed through a political lens – this is their standard (despicable) playbook – but nothing will deter me from fighting for a good future and your right to free speech”.
Since making his public statement, Musk has gone on to joke about the allegations. On Twitter Musk reacted to YouTube founder Chad Hurley, tweeting, “Hi Chad, long time no see! Fine, if you touch my wiener, you can have a horse.”
Since the publication of these allegations, Tesla’s shares have decreased in value, with some analysts suggesting a correlation.
